Pencil for FRANK'S HIGH HORSE page one

In the year 2000 I was trying to imbue the  Frank stories with a greater depth of grandeur in the drawing. Accordingly I made tonal pencil studies for each page until it was no longer necessary. This is one of those pages, a survivor at 22 years old. What an earnest endeavor these Frank stories were. I mean really.
